Feeding the 5000 Portsmouth aims to stimulate public action on food waste, both at our community level and on a national policy level. It aims to shine a light on the global food waste scandal, champion the delicious solutions already happening locally, and catalyse the global movement against food waste; raising the issue up the political agenda and inspiring new local initiatives against food waste.
There will also be: a smoothie bike whipping up delicious fruit smoothies from surplus fruit, the Navy cookery
demonstration bus will be showing us some delicious recipes using kitchen items we regularly throw away, CURB Kitchen food project from Southampton will be sharing their food rescue stories, FoodCycle Portsmouth will be sharing their community meal message and, vegetable characters to bring smiles to faces!
Organised by: Feedback, Portsmouth Food Partnership, Portsmouth City Council, Portsmouth Together, Love Your Street, FoodCycle Portsmouth, University of Portsmouth, The Royal Navy, and the Portsmouth Cultural Trust at Portsmouth Guildhall; it’s going to be an amazing partnership!
