This year’s Culture Night Belfast takes place on Friday 16 September.

The centrepiece of the event will be an attempt to offer soup to thousands of people throughout the afternoon and early evening. Nearly a tonne of perfectly healthy and edible food that would otherwise not be eaten by people, is going to be used for making this mega soup for the masses, but it is going to require a lot of chopping.

This is where you can come in. We want as many people as possible to help us prep the veg, and we are in the middle of organising four locations across the city where you can come along, roll up your sleeves and do your bit to feed the hoards.

Find out more about the event and sign up on Facebook here.

We want to bring people from all backgrounds together in what are called Disco Chops (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Pj-QXep8A), where dozens of people gather to prepare food, all to the sounds of pop and dance music.

Wherever you live in the city, and whatever time you’re free, we hope that there will be a disco chop that you can attend at some point during the Thursday before Belfast Culture Night.
