The Food Waste Revolution comes to Dusseldorf
From 7-8 May Feedback participated in the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s two-day SAVE FOOD Congress. Together with stakeholders from across the sector, including our partners at EU FUSIONS, the congress showcased solutions to combat global food waste.
On the first day of the conference, Feedback Founder Tristram Stuart, discussed food waste on farms, feeding pigs and solutions that go beyond packaging. During lunch, we served up delicious meals for all participants and visitors of the congress made from fresh, top-quality food that would otherwise have gone to waste. Our lunches were so successful they was even broadcast on German television. Watch Feedback’s Managing Director Niki Charalampopoulou on ARD1 here.
To round of the congress, we collaborated with local food waste activists at Slow Food Youth Network Dusseldorf, Foodsharing and Taste of Heimat on the Schnippeldisko on 8 May. There was chopping, as well as sharing and eating the delicious food that would otherwise have gone to waste, all to the BEET of party music. You can see more on the Facebook link here.
The Congress proved a great opportunity to showcase the delicious solutions to food waste to a wide range of high profile delegates and decision makers. Find out more by visiting the SAVE FOOD page here.
