What’s a Disco Soup
Disco Soup is a global movement in which volunteers bring together people to prepare delicious meals using food that would have otherwise gone to waste. The Disco Part is simple! There are massive beats playing the whole night to get you bopping while you’re chopping. Disco Soups have been organised by community activists all over the world and this will be latest instalment in London’s Disco Soup legacy.
The event will take place in the Cafe/Lead area of The Castle once the building has been closed.
There will also be a guest appearance by America’s food wate hero Rob Greenfield.
The current refugee crisis in Calais requires urgent assistance which is primarily being catered for by independent volunteers and small NGOs. Volunteers from the staff have been to Calais on a number of trips now and we have raised over £2000 to help action on the ground via Garden Refu-juice sales in the cafe, the locker pound collection, and the online crowdfunder.
Make sure you bring your best dancing shoes, chopping skills and a tupperware box to take home any leftovers!
We are proud to help support this Disco Soup along with The Castle Climbing Centre and all the volunteers working hard to organise the night!
