EcoTalent – Organic Grower Internship with Fork and Dig It (Brighton)

Fork and Dig It are looking for an enthusiastic young person to work as a Trainee Grower.  They are currently recruiting 2 interns interested in gaining experience in the production and distribution of organically grown fruit and vegetables within the context of their Community Supported Agriculture Scheme.

Fork and Dig It grow for local families and deliver a share of their harvest for 48 weeks of the year (they have a 2 week break over both Christmas and Easter). Interns will work alongside the management team, growers and harvesters 4 days a week, Tuesdays to Fridays 9 – 5pm, (shared lunches 12.30 – 1pm). Your time will be spent predominately learning the principles and practise of small scale food production on Brighton’s only organic certified land. There will be some self study, research and written work.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn about growing food in a sustainable way who enjoy working outdoors and being with other like minded people.

Brighton Food Factory is looking for a keen intern to both work as a research assistant and help 1) raise the profile of produce that is grown in Sussex and 2) the work of Brighton Food Factory. The overarching aims are to develop awareness of the organisation’s work and their partnerships and to assist in developing a cohesive message across different platforms.
