Alchemic Kitchen launches its Christmas collection of no-waste preserves

Feedback’s team in the North West has been cooking up something very special for the past few months, and now they are ready for the big reveal. Drum roll please… We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Alchemic Kitchen, Feedback’s start up social enterprise in Merseyside, working alchemy with surplus food.

This Christmas, the Alchemic Kitchen is offering a hamper filled with hand-made preserves, chutneys and condiments, all made using locally sourced surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. Click here to buy yours.

Alongside rescuing food from farms and markets (in partnership with Feedback’s Gleaning Network in the North West), the Alchemic Kitchen works with community groups including veterans, people in recovery from addictions and families at risk of holiday hunger to provide opportunities to work with food, gain confidence and develop skills. In the coming months, the Alchemic Kitchen will be offering an accredited training programme teaching food and kitchen skills to support people into work, as well as workshops aimed at helping avoid waste and preparing healthy, plant-based meals.

We’re really proud of the work Lucy, Helena and Keenan have been doing to set up the Alchemic Kitchen, including creating their new converted container kitchen, and reaching out far and wide into the local community. More broadly, the Alchemic Kitchen is helping to advocate for the importance of a regional food economy, where both financial and nutritional value support regional well being and promote sustainable food systems.

By buying from Alchemic Kitchen you’ll be supporting a fledgling social enterprise and taking part in our story (have a look at the photos below from their work). At the heart of what we do is our belief in valuing food and valuing people. We hope you’ll join us.
